Big fan of Hangetsu. The food on the day of our visit was fresh and delicious. The service was excellent. Personal favorite and a recommendation - Santa Barbara Uni. Fresh and sweet - surprisingly rare level of (high) quality. Another great feature is outdoor seating - but - in this areaa - it may get too chilly.

The rolls were super tasty and the fish to rice ratio was decent. We ordered the lion king roll, caterpillar roll, Kobe beef roll, and the Hamachi carpaccio. We got our food within 10 minutes, super quick on a weekday evening! Simple decor with lots of windows to watch the hwy traffic. There were a ton of TVs around the place and they were playing some live football game.

Always an excellent experience - food and service! We typically enjoy takeout from here but tonight enjoyed a 10 person dinner party in the private room and it was amazing.

Chirashzushi = divine. Great service and high-quality fresh sushi dishes. Received a 10 out of 10 from our close relative, who is from a fishing village in Japan.

Ambiance is small, cozy spot. There is a sushi bar you can choose or tables. I chose bar as it was only myself. The chefs were friendly and knowledgeable and I enjoyed my conversations with them. Service was fast and efficient. Kept my water glass full which I like. I ordered the miso soup and tempura veggies for appetizer and a couple rolls, one was the lion roll *amazing Will definitely be back. Oh and their bathroom is clean and huge

Wow wow wow Okay let's start with location... Great!!! easy parking Inside it very clean and open Staff was amazing very nice and welcoming Derek was the best of the best! Great customer service! Sushi rating A1!!! Wow this place is so delicious!! So FRESH! to be honest my favorite was dream girl roll and warrior roll! Over all 5 stars if I could give more I would in a heartbeat! Looking forward for to come back and try more!

Hands down, some of the best sushi my wife and I have ever had. A very unassuming place, but we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Hangetsu Sushi. We sat at the bar with 2 musing chefs, but were extraordinarily polite and friendly. We ordered some garlic edamame as a start, and we contemplated ordering a second serving. The seasoning was a paste like consistency coating each pod and full of flavor. We were blown away. We then ordered maguro sashimi along with some hirami sashimi - this was the best fish we've ever put in our mouths. Hirami is typically served in rice wine vinegar to moderate the fishy flavor or it, but this fish didn't even need soy sauce. I even asked the chef if it was indeed hirami; it was silky, sweet, and mild. We also ordered the 49er roll which was sliced into perfect morsels with superb flavor. We ended the meal with a couple oyster shooters. Perfect ending to a perfect meal. We were also pleasantly surprised with the bill; while not cheap, we've paid way more for worse quality sushi plenty of times. Location is off the beaten path, and ambiance is nothing flashy, the food and service speaks for themselves.

I've had carryout from Hangetsu before but have never eaten in before. That was a mistake. Eating in, especially in the VIP room, is to be experienced. The room aside, I really enjoyed my meal. I had the miso black cod, which is a favorite and was as good as the best I have had (at Morimoto Philadelphia). The nigiri sushi were all fresh and delicious. I had the mackerel and salmon belly, and my son shared his o toro with me. Finished off with some mochi ice cream. And a Sapporo. What's not to love. See you again next visit!
